Terms of Service
Last updated: October 25, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and us for using Cleanbook. They cover the product app at app.getcleanbook.com, the request pages and business websites we host for cleaning businesses, the client portal, and this site.
Cleanbook is a product of Yolk LLC. In these terms, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Yolk LLC, doing business as Cleanbook.
Who these terms cover
Businesses. A cleaning business that signs up for Cleanbook, and the owner who signs up for it. In these terms, “you” usually means the business. The person who accepts these terms confirms they are at least 18 and can bind the business to them.
Staff. Owners, cleaners, and anyone else the business gives a Cleanbook login. Staff use Cleanbook on the business's behalf, and the business is responsible for what they do in it.
Clients. People who use a business's request page, confirmation link, pay link, or the client portal. If you are a client, your agreement for the cleaning itself (the price, the schedule, the cancellation policy, refunds) is with the cleaning business, not with us. Questions about a cleaning or a charge go to that business first. When you use the parts of Cleanbook a business sends you to, the acceptable use rules below apply to you too.
Accounts and staff logins
Sign up with a real name, email, and business name, and keep them up to date. You sign in with an email and password, or an emailed link or code. Keep your login to yourself and tell us at support@getcleanbook.com if you think someone else has used it.
The business decides who gets a staff login and what they can see, and can remove a login at any time. Each team member with a login is a staff seat. Team members you schedule without a login are not seats, and neither are clients who use the client portal.
Plans, trial, and billing
There are two plans, Starter and Pro, with current prices on our pricing page. Plans are billed monthly in advance, in US dollars, through Stripe. Starter includes 3 staff seats and cannot go over 3. Pro includes 10 staff seats, and each seat over 10 is billed on your monthly invoice at the rate on the pricing page.
Trial. A new business gets a 14-day trial of Pro. You do not need a card to start it. If you have not added a card when the trial ends, the trial ends and you are not charged. If you have added one, your plan starts and is billed when the trial ends.
Texting. Texting is part of Pro and is billed on top of the plan: your business number each month, at the carrier's price for a US local number rounded up to the next dollar, and any texts over the monthly allowance. A text is one message sent or received, whatever its length. The allowance and the per-text rate are on the pricing page.
Card payments. On any plan, card payments your clients make cost the rate shown on the pricing page and in the app, which is kept from each payment. See Card payments below.
Taxes. Prices do not include taxes. If sales tax or a similar tax applies to your subscription, it is added to your invoice, and you are responsible for it.
Price changes. We may change plan prices, seat prices, or texting prices. We will tell you by email at least 30 days before a change applies to you, and it starts with your next billing period after that. If you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before it starts.
If a subscription payment fails and stays unpaid, we may limit paid features until it is paid.
Canceling
You can cancel any time. In the app, open Settings, Plan, then Manage billing, which opens Stripe. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep your plan until then. You can switch between Starter and Pro from the same place.
We do not refund partial months, unused seats, or unused texts, unless the law requires it. Deleting your account from the app cancels the subscription right away, and the same no-refund rule applies.
Your business and your clients
Cleanbook is software. You run your business. You are responsible for:
- The cleaning services you offer and provide, your prices, and your policies, including cancellation fees and any card surcharge you turn on.
- Your relationship with your clients and your staff, including hiring, pay, and employment or contractor rules.
- The client data you put into Cleanbook. You confirm you have the right to collect it and to use it in Cleanbook, and that you will tell your clients how you use it.
- What you publish on your request page and business website, including services, prices, photos, and reviews.
- Following the laws that apply to your business, including consumer protection, privacy, tax, and surcharge rules.
We are not a party to the agreements between you and your clients or between you and your staff.
Texting your clients
Texts you send through Cleanbook go out from your business number, under a carrier registration (A2P 10DLC) filed for your business. You are the sender of those messages, and you agree that:
- You have each client's consent to text them before you do, of the kind the law requires for the messages you send, and you can show how and when you got it.
- You follow the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), state texting laws, the CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices, and carrier A2P 10DLC rules.
- The information you give for your carrier registration is true and complete, and you keep it current.
- You honor opt-outs. When a client replies STOP, Cleanbook stops texting that number. If a client asks you to stop some other way, turn texts off for them.
- You are responsible for the content of your messages, including the wording you change on reminders and payment texts. No marketing blasts, no messages to people who have not agreed to hear from you, and nothing carriers prohibit.
Carriers decide whether to approve a registration and can filter or block messages. We cannot promise that a registration is approved by a certain date or that every text is delivered. If carriers or our texting provider flag your number for complaints or violations, we may pause texting for your business.
Card payments
Card payments are available on every plan. They are processed by Stripe through a Stripe Connect account set up in your business's name. You are the merchant of record for payments your clients make. We are not the merchant of record and we are not a party to the transactions between you and your clients. Payouts go from Stripe to your bank account on Stripe's schedule.
Payment processing services for businesses on Cleanbook are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Services Agreement. By connecting Stripe in Cleanbook, you agree to those terms, as Stripe may change them. As a condition of Cleanbook enabling payments through Stripe, you agree to give us accurate and complete information about you and your business, and you authorize us to share it, and transaction information about your use of Stripe, with Stripe.
You are responsible for refunds, disputes and chargebacks, card fees, and taxes on the payments you take. If a refund, dispute, chargeback, or fee leaves your Stripe balance short, or Stripe charges it to us, you agree to repay it. We may recover it from your future payouts where Stripe allows, charge the card you use for your subscription, or send you an invoice.
Charging a card on file, cancellation fees, tips, and card surcharges are your decisions. Only charge a saved card for what the client agreed to, and check that a surcharge is allowed where you and your client are.
Acceptable use
Do not use Cleanbook to:
- Send spam or texts or emails people did not agree to receive.
- Store or send anything illegal, harassing, or that you do not have the right to share.
- Discriminate unlawfully against clients, job applicants, or staff.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or try to get at the source code of Cleanbook, except where the law allows it.
- Get into accounts or data that are not yours, probe for security holes, or interfere with how Cleanbook runs.
- Abuse, threaten, or defraud us, other businesses, staff, or clients.
- Scrape Cleanbook or collect data from it with bots or other automated tools.
- Resell, sublicense, or rent Cleanbook, or offer it to others as a service, without our written permission.
Your data
Your business owns its data: clients, homes, schedules, invoices, notes, and the rest of what you and your staff put into Cleanbook. You give us permission to host, copy, process, and display it only as needed to run Cleanbook for you, keep it secure, and support you, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your data and we do not use your client list for ads.
You can download reports as CSV files from the app at any time. For a copy of your other business data, email us and we will send it.
When a business account is deleted, its schedule, clients, staff logins, and invoices are deleted, as the Privacy Policy describes. If a subscription ends without the account being deleted, we keep the data for a limited time so you can come back or ask for a copy, and then we may delete it. Stripe keeps payment records under its own rules, and we keep billing records the law requires.
Our software and your feedback
We own Cleanbook: the software, the app, the design, the Cleanbook name and logo, and this site. While you have an account in good standing, we give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Cleanbook for your business under these terms.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we can use them to improve Cleanbook without owing you anything.
Other services we use
Parts of Cleanbook run on other companies' services: Stripe for subscriptions and card payments, Twilio for business numbers and texts, Google Maps for directions, and providers for hosting, the database, and email. Some of them have their own terms that apply when you use those features, like Stripe's above. We are not responsible for outages or changes on their side, but we will work with them to fix problems that affect you.
Changes to the service
We work to keep Cleanbook running, but it may sometimes be down for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We improve Cleanbook all the time, which means we add, change, and sometimes remove features. If we remove something your plan depends on in a way that matters, we will tell you ahead of time when we can.
Disclaimers
Cleanbook is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that Cleanbook will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every text or email will be delivered, or that it will meet every need of your business. Check your schedule and your invoices.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, even if we were told they were possible.
Our total liability for all claims about Cleanbook or these terms is limited to the amount you paid us for Cleanbook in the 12 months before the event that led to the claim.
Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Indemnity
The business will defend and hold us harmless from claims, losses, fines, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) brought by others that come from its use of Cleanbook, its services and its relationships with its clients and staff, its client data, the texts it sends, the payments it takes, or its breach of these terms or the law.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using Cleanbook and cancel or delete your account at any time, as described above.
We may suspend or close an account, or turn off a feature like texting or payments for it, if the business breaks these terms, does not pay, puts other users or our providers at risk, or if the law, Stripe, or a carrier requires it. When we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
When an account closes, your right to use Cleanbook ends, and your data is handled as described under Your data. Amounts you owe, and the sections on payments, your data, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law, still apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about Cleanbook or these terms will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Utah, and both sides agree to those courts' jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we make a material change, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect, and change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using Cleanbook after the change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, cancel before then.
